WEEK OF NOVEMBER 17
6TH GRADE
Monday, November 17
Written assignment for tomorrow: Why does the Torah add the extra "hei" in "Yom Hashishi?" What is this change
in the Torah's language style at the end of the 6th day of Creation supposed to teach us? Be creative and original.
Your answer may take the form of a commentary, paragraph, story, or original Midrash.
Now is the time to share notes (or get them) for B'reshit Perek 1 (Chapter 1). Summaries of all the Rashi commentaries
we've studied so far are here or in the File Library.
Tuesday, November 18
If you did not turn in today's assignment, you may turn it in tomorrow for half credit. Bring your Amida L'chol materials
tomorrow.
Thursday, November 20
Written assignment for Friday: List each of the 7 days of Creation as described in the first Chapter of B'reshit. For each,
list what was created on that day, as well as any of the facts, problems, or special things that we discussed in class
about that day. For example, for the first day, you would say that G-d created shamayim v'aretz (heavens and earth), and
you might write one or two sentences about the Yom Echad/Yom Rishon discussion we had. If you don't have the text at home,
you can find it here or in the File Library. If you haven't downloaded the Rashi summaries you can get them here. This is a
10 point assignment.
