MIDDLE SCHOOL
Greenfield Day School aspires to the highest standards of academic excellence. We believe each child is creative and gifted in his or her own unique way. Therefore, we have created an environment that is developmentally responsive to young adolescents as they journey through adulthood. Students in grades 6,7, and 8 have specialized needs. We recognize that their day needs to revolve around a core curriculum and creative offerings. The curriculum and the student's day have been designed with their skill levels and advancement capabilities in mind. Our philosophy guides our curricular decisions. Our faculty measure their success by whether they have helped to develop humane, moral, Jewish individuals, who pursue a lifetime of learning.

The Middle School Secular Program provides a rigorous, comprehensive curriculum designed to meet the academic, social and developmental needs of the students during these pivotal years. The ultimate instructional goal is to give each student knowledge of and essential skills in the core curriculum areas of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies/history. Areas of skill development at Greenfield include: the refinement of abstract thinking, organization, judgment and the ability to work profitably and purposely within a group or the community.

With the goal of promoting and nurturing the academic, personal and spiritual progress of each child, Greenfield's program stresses respect for self and community as one strives the highest possible level of personal achievement.
