| Reading Lab: At
Greenfield Day School, it is our goal to help students develop a love of
reading by providing necessary skills development, positive
reinforcement and opportunities to read in a variety of settings.
Students in grades 1 to 5 come to the Reading Lab twice a week as a
total class. Individual remediation or enrichment are offered one, two
or three times each week in small groups or privately.
Art: The students learn about styles and techniques. Finished projects are shown throughout the school. Each year projects are displayed at the Annual Art Show where students have received many accolades. Music: Students from Kindergarten through 5th grade are involved in our music program. This program encompasses music appreciation, Judaic and secular compositions, and an overall introduction to music history and orchestral instruments. The children perform for a variety of school events. Physical Education: School spirit and sportsmanship are developed through a comprehensive Physical Education Program. Younger children learn the rules of each sport as well as developing muscle coordination. Older students participate in sports including: baseball, flag football, soccer, tennis, basketball, modified gymnastics program, track and field events. Computers: We emphasize an awareness of the capabilities of computers and the knowledge to complete projects, integrating General and Judaic Studies with the use of computers and the Internet. Computer instruction begins with Kindergarten students and continues through fifth grade in a state-of-the-art Media Center. |
